Okay, I am excited. I have stuck to my grocery budget for the last two weeks. I really clipped coupons and matched deals for my favorite grocery store. I then shopped at my produce market and a quick trip to Target.
The breakdown:
Vons $101.58
Target $18.89 ( I had several gift cards I used so my total value was over $40)
Produce Market $13.23
Total $133.70
This included dog food this week as well. I treated us to pizza last night and I made the salad here. We had not ate out anywhere in the last two weeks.
If you want to look up your store to find the best deals of the week by percentage off than visit here.
I check the best deal here each week and you can use coupons or not. I am using them when I have them if the deal is good and for something we will use.
You can see some of my best posts on saving on groceries here and here.
My totals for last week are here.

Great job Elaine! I know how hard it is to feed a family on a budget these days.
hugs, Linda
Well, my budget has been blown a little bit, having a lot of company really did a number on it, but I have had so much fun with everyone and all the great meals we have shared, so I don't mind at all. I get back on course next week. You did a great job, I love it. Hugs, Marty
Good shopping Elaine! I really need to buckle down and do this too!!!
So, what's for dinner?
xo Kris
You did a fantastic job on saving money at the grocery store. Food just seems to be getting higher and higher.

Is that for the ONE WEEK? I'm guessing (can't recall) ...6 people?
You still have all your girls at home right?
Well, doesn't matter what you spend for your family...but the budget. If you set a budget and stayed within that budget...then I say YAY!
Everybody's budget is different right? But it can be done, you CAN FEED A LARGE FAMILY...on a frugal budget.
I like this article. Pat
WIth our busy highways, I have to way gas versus money saved. Congrats on sticking to your budget. We are trying to commit to eating out of the pantry and freezer more, and that's helping us save and not waste what we already have.
(We are saving $ for private school for next year.

good for you! with high California prices and a big family, you are doing great.
Well done!! I've been running a budget challenge all month and we've spent soo little compared to usual and REALLY bumped up our savings account! Keeping the grocery budget in check as the way to save $$!
Elaine, I have really learned to work the deals at Vons since moving here. Not only do I click on savings on the computer before I go, but I also save on gas with them. This week my store (Vons) had an overstock sale on whole chickens for 49 cents a pound, limit 2. Of course I bought two. Those chickens go a long way for two people and I had been waiting for that price to drop.
Good for you, I enjoy reading how you stay within your budget.

Awesome shop Elaine!! I spent a bit more than I wanted to this week, but was under budget the previous 3 weeks. Saving for my family and being creative is the best feeling in the world!!
I can never get those coupon bars to work. Thought it was me, but my niece says she never can get them to work either. Did you ever have that problem? Mary
